Woman threatens legal action over revenge porn

NAPLES, FL -

A Naples woman says a Collier County deputy is threatening to post pornographic pictures he has of her to the web. Now she's fighting back with legal action. Rebekah Wells admits to a relationship with the deputy and says things turned ugly.

If the pictures make it to the web it wouldn't be the first time someone has posted such photos of Wells to the internet. While she knows the ones already up are there forever, she hopes a civil injunction will help stop any more photos from being uploaded.

"Just think of the most obscene thing you've ever seen and then add to it for Rebecca's," said attorney Patrick McGeehan. A mistake made once that will never go away.

"I just remember how I felt when I first saw my photos. I felt completely powerless," Wells said. She has intimate photos of her on the internet. She says an ex-boyfriend posted them in 2010. "I was scared to death," she said.

Rebekah is now afraid the nightmare could happen again, this time from a different man--a Collier County Sheriff's deputy.

"He was direct, he told me that he had material and he did threaten to circulate it," she said.

Rebekah alleges that man is Deputy Vito Celiberte. According to a civil injunction, Celiberte investigated a case involving nude photos of Wells released by an ex-boyfriend in 2010.

The Collier County Sheriff's Office could not provide the case number; neither could Wells or her attorney.

"I definitely filed a report with Vito Celiberte in November 2010," she said.

Wells admits to an intimate relationship with Celiberte from November 2011 to May 2012.

It was then that the new photos were taken.

"It's my understanding he's in possession not only the original pornographic images, but he also himself took pornographic images of Miss Wells," McGeehan said.

Wells also filed a civil complaint against her ex-boyfriend from 2010, two websites the complaint says promote "revenge porn" and two Doe's to be named at a later time.

"These particular websites are designed solely to distribute and traffic in revenge pornography," McGeehan said.

Wells' ex-boyfriend and Celiberte were unavailable for comment. While the sheriff's office could not find the report from 2010, I did find an incident report on Wells dating back to February of 2012, during the time she claims they were dating.

The report states Wells and Celiberte got into a verbal argument regarding information on her computer. Wells now has a website promoting those impacted by revenge porn.
