Ft. Myers retiree facing child porn charges

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement arrested a 70-year-old man after they said they found child porn on his computer.

Derrick Lynn Brewster, of American Eagle Court in Fort Myers, was arrested on Thursday and charged with possession of child porn and intent to promote. We found out more details after his first appearance Friday morning.

Investigators said they found three videos on Brewster's computer, showing young girls performing sex acts. Investigators said he also tried to promote them through an online peer-to-peer network.

He's charged with three counts of possessing videos that show the sexual exploitation of children, and one count of intending to promote such videos.

Brewster's attorney asked the charges not be read aloud, for his client's protection.

He also said Brewster is a retired man, who lives with his wife and has been a Lee County resident for 19 years.

Neighbors tell us they are shocked and disgusted by what investigators said Brewster was up to.

Judge set bond at $80,000. As soon as that's posted, he'll be allowed to return home.

The court ordered him not to have any contact with children.
