A Florida woman used careful planning and a coded message to outwit an Ontario County man accused of kidnapping her, then keeping her as a sex slave in the home he said he shared with his grandparents, according to court documents.

18 charged in Fort Myers drug investigation

Fort Myers police say they've filed charges against 18 people after a three-month narcotics investigation. The 18 face a total of 50 felony charges and 15 misdemeanor charges. The department says undercover officers bought drugs from street-level dealers during the operation.

Two Southwest Florida men are among 255 accused child predators served with arrest warrants during a five-week operation conducted by several state and federal agencies.

Marijuana grow house destroyed by fire

A Lehigh Acres marijuana grow house that was busted last week was destroyed by a fire overnight. Fire crews say it happened around 1 a.m. Friday at 4307 E. 15th Street. The Fire Marshall is surveying the damage and the cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
