Convicted felon arrested for sex assault

Police arrested a convicted felon Saturday after he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman after stealing a car. Officers responded to an apartment in the City's west district in reference to a sexual assault, Saturday morning.

The victim had been severely beaten. Police learned that the victim had met the suspect a few weeks ago at a bus stop. The victim told police that early Saturday morning, the suspect forced his way into her apartment.

After the assault, he then fled the scene. Officers secured the apartment for the investigation and issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) for the suspect.

Meanwhile, officers were called to another apartment complex in reference to a stolen vehicle.

The suspect in that case matched the description of the suspect in the sexual assault and was still on scene.

After further investigation, police learned the suspect took the car to get to the victim's apartment.

Officers arrested 26-year-old Terrence Faison of Fort Myers for sexual assault, burglary with an assault, grand theft auto, operating a vehicle without a valid license and violation of probation.

Faison is a convicted felon and was on felony probation for burglary, battery and grand theft when police arrested him for the new crimes.
