Recent DUI arrests in the News

Miguel a 27 year old singer-songwriter was arrested for a DUI in California this morning around 2:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time according to ABCnews.com.  He was initially pulled over for speeding, how fast he was going was unavailable.  During the traffic stop the officer smelled alcohol, this then turned the stop into a Driving under the influence investigation.  The website says that he blew a .10 which is higher than the allowable blood alcohol level of .08 in the state of California.  It was also reported that he was fully cooperative and was later released from jail on a $5000 bond.  Miguel is scheduled to be in court on September 9th to start his legal fight against the charges.  To read more go to: http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/entertainment/2013/08/singer-miguel-arrested-for-dui-in-los-angeles/

Another celebrity in the news  charged with driving under the influence is the grandson of racecar driver legend Dale Earnhardt.  Bobby Dale Earnhardt was pulled over in West Virginia for making a wide left turn at a high rate of speed according to the USA Today.  Earnhardt's BAC was .193 which is double the allowable BAC in West Virginia of .08.  Here again like Miguel, Earnhardt was pulled over for a simple traffic incident and due to the odor of alcohol turned the incident into a DUI investigation.  To read more go to: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nascar/2013/08/13/bobby-dale-earnhardt-dui/2648395/
