FORT MYERS -Fort Myers police arrested a man after executing a search warrant which stemmed from undercover drug purchases over several months.
The Special Investigations Group with the assistance of SWAT and uniformed officers conducted a lawful search warrant at 2925 Thomas Street Wednesday afternoon. Police say the location had been operating as a street level drug distribution center.
After the residence was secured and the occupants detained, detectives conducted a systematic search of the residence.
The following items of evidentiary value were recovered:
- 78.5 grams of cocaine hcl. A portion of the cocaine was packaged and ready for street level distribution, approximately 100 baggies.
- 22.5 grams of marijuana, this included sixteen baggies packaged for street distribution.
- A total of $1,300.00 was recovered and seized as proceeds from drug sales.
- Digital scales and hundreds of Ziploc baggies were located as well. These items are used for weighing and packaging illegal drugs. Police say the estimated street value of drugs seized is $5,000.
Eric Crawford of Fort Myers faces the following charges: Trafficking in cocaine, possession of marijuana with the intent to sell or distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
