Marijuana Grow house or Vegetable Bust?
According to the Huffington Post police officers are performing grow house raids all over the country and coming up with less than the sought after marijuana goods. Heavily armed police officers earlier this month raided a property in Cartersville, Georgia and discovered that the plant that was being harvested was okra.
The gentlemen’s home that was raided was woken up to a frightening scene. Officers “strapped to the gills” (victim’s own words), K-9 units, along with the Governor’s Task Force for drug suppression all showed up for the failed drug bust.
This is not the only story where there have been botched marijuana grow house busts and has been an reoccurring epidemic.
Back in 2001 officers were doing a flyover in Texas and spotted what they believed were marijuana plants. The officers called the Texas Capital Area Drug Task Force and entered the home of a Vietnam Vet. It turned out to be ragweed which vaguely resembles the marijuana plant.
While officers are allowed to make mistakes, after all they are human, training needs to be done so innocent people are not tormented by the government and our tax dollars on not wasted.
